Economic Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:

Advisor to the Ambassador, Embassy officials, and visitors from Washington on Austrian and regional economic and political developments within the broader European context. Develops a detailed knowledge of Austrian, European, American, and broader economic developments. Understands, explains, and defends U.S. economic policy priorities.

Qualifications and competencies we seek:

We are looking for a quick learner with great interpersonal skills, who is able to deal with a broad range of personnel in a sometimes-stressful environment:

• Incumbent must demonstrate sophisticated understanding of economic data and theory, U.S. economic policy, international economic and political context, interplay of political/economic issues, host country and EU economic and political decision-making bodies and procedures.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in economics, political science, economic research and/or analysis, public finance, business consulting, trade, commerce or another related field is required.
• Fluent; speaking/reading/writing, may include the ability to translate in English and German

Salary

A gross annual salary starting at 63,807EUR (5,317/month), plus the additional bonus payments (13th and 14th month payment)
