Energy Markets and Optimisation Analyst (m/f/d)

Vienna | Full-time

We need your energy to:

  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis on flexibility management, wholesale trading, and balancing services across Austrian and international energy markets.
  • Develop and refine strategies, algorithms, and trading models for intraday and balancing services optimization across various asset types, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
  • Simulate revenue potential and model use cases for standalone BESS and co-located assets, providing data-driven insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor evolving market trends, policies, and regulatory changes, assessing their impact on energy trading, investment strategies, and asset optimization.
  • Identify market risks and opportunities, translating findings into actionable insights that support long-term planning and business growth.
  • Support clients in their BESS investment decisions, providing expert consultancy and guiding asset marketing to align with market conditions.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations, ensuring clear communication of findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Engage with industry players through conferences, forums, and networking events to stay at the forefront of sector developments.
  • Embrace a dynamic role that offers variety--from technical analysis to strategic advisory--allowing for continuous learning and career growth in the energy sector.

You bring the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Physics, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Energy Economics, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in market analysis, preferably within the energy sector.
  • Knowledge of forecasting and optimisation, as well as mathematical/statistical knowledge
  • Strong understanding of flexibility management, demand response, and frequency regulation services. Knowledge of energy markets, smart grids, and renewable energy technologies is highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages like Python, with advanced expertise in Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Passionate about client interaction, with a proactive mindset in addressing needs and building lasting relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to stay focused and organized while managing a variety of tasks and shifting priorities. You should thrive in a dynamic environment and be comfortable adapting to changing requirements.

Gehalt

Das kollektivvertragliche Mindestgehalt beträgt 3.500 EUR brutto pro Monat (auf 38,5 Stunden Basis). Das Gehalt wird 14-mal jährlich ausbezahlt. Es gilt der Kollektivvertrag Informationstechnologie, Datenverarbeitung (IT).

In line with the "Collective Agreement for Employees of Companies in the Field of Automatic Data Processing and Information Technology Services", we offer a competitive salary.
